FCFH delegation attending Sino-Finnish conference in Hangzhou on 19–20 May 2024

A delegation of 19 persons have enrolled for traveling from Finland to Hangzhou, China to attend the conference Food from Forestry, Health and Sustainability at Zhejiang A&F University. The delegation is lead by Rector Jukka Kola and Vice Dean Baoru Yang.  Olli Suominen, Education and Science Counsellor at the Embassy of Finland in Beijing will also join the delegation in Hangzhou the 20 May 2024.

Six Finnish universities: University of Helsinki, University of Eastern Finland, University of Oulu, University of Tampere, Åbo Akademi and University of Turku will be represented by professors and researchers.

Finland-China Food and Health Network, Zhejiang A&F University, China Agricultural University and Jiangnan University are jointly organising the conference of food from forestry, health and sustainability in Hangzhou, China from 19 to 21 May 2024.

Conference themes: 

(1) Changes and regulation of nutritional components in forest food

(2) Mechanism of nutrition and health-promoting properties of forest food

(3) Research, development and innovation of forest food

(4) Safety control of forest food

(5) Sensory evaluation of forest health foods

The forest contains rich food sources. The fruits, seeds or leaves of forest plants contain various nutrients needed by the human body, which have huge potential in human health. The conference aims to bring together Finnish and Chinese experts from academia in order to share their latest research and knowledge of forest food and their health-related properties. Post-events will be organised during 22–24 May, including the possibility to visiting Zhejiang A&F University, Zhejiang Gongshang University and Chinese Academy of Forestry.
