The recent Sino-Finnish Joint Development Days organised in Metropolia UAS, Laurea UAS and Haaga-Helia UAS on 22–24 April aimed at fostering collaborative projects between the two nations. The 3-day event was organised by China-Network of Finnish Universities of Applied Sciences (UAS) that is part of Global Pilot program funded by the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture. International Liaison Officer Satu Nurmi from the University of Turku represented FCFH on the 3rd day organised at Haaga-Helia UAS. The event gathered representatives from 27 Finland and China higher education institutions, in total 88 participants.
The last day of the event was hosted by Senior Lecturer Leena Törmälä, featured insightful sessions on the Finnish UAS model, professional teacher education, and exploration of different collaboration forms, culminating in constructive conclusions and future plans.
-During the event there was active discussion on different ways of collaboration, such as joint programmes, joint projects, exchange and teacher training. The day was also a great opportunity to get to meet Chinese visitors, get to know colleagues from Universities of Applied Sciences and also hear what kind of project initiatives our university could be part of, explains Nurmi.
The China-Network is coordinated by Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences, Metropolia University of Applied Sciences and Laurea University of Applied Sciences.
